Wiz Khalifa & J. Cole SU Show Review
The Wiz and Cole concert last night at Syracuse University left a lot to be desired. The concert opened with J. Cole, who’s stage presence was not as pristine as I was expecting it to be.

Cole performed alongside two keyboardists and a DJ. The DJ (who’s name I can’t find) murdered a 5 minute solo and literally stole the spotlight away from Cole. Cole’s mix was off the entire show and he has yet to master performing and still yells into the mic on stage until the point where the sound is too distorted to hear. Also, whoever was doing the spotlight was mentally inept.
“Higher”, “All I Want is You” and “Who Dat” were all banging nonetheless and I have to think that if more of the audience was J. Cole fans his show would have been more impressive.

If J. Cole was a disappointment, Wiz was an embarrassment. I have been a Wiz fan since the Prince of the City days, so I was thoroughly upset with how terrible his live show was. He rapped over his mixtape tracks instead the instrumentals and it sounded awful. His song choice also sucked and I could not believe he didn’t encore to “Say Yeah”. He did not have any live sound with him except a scrubby DJ and an annoying hype man. Also, who was the doofy white kid in the converse hoody attempting to ruin the show? He literally through the DJ off so badly that Wiz had to repeat 4 lines to get back on time.
